A day in the life - - -
You wake up in the morning, in the comfort of your own room, surrounded by pictures and furniture which you recognise are yours – the start of a new day! A knock on the door announces a member of staff, who you recognise, who brings you a hot cup of tea or coffee, followed later by a breakfast tray of your choice.
After breakfast, staff help you to wash and dress.

You are now free to do whatever you wish, in the safe reassurance that you are safe, and amongst friends who care. Personal choice lies at the heart of our philosophy of care. How about a stroll in the home’s enclosed back garden, sitting down admiring the flowers, or feeding the fish in the home’s pond? Or a stroll outside of the grounds, to the local church, shops, or beautiful Manor Barn Gardens (accompanied by a member of staff)? Or simply relaxing in your room?

Activities are planned each morning by staff, to provide exercise and stimulation, and just good fun! On a Wednesday, a professional activities organiser comes in - residents participate in sing-a-longs, word games, quizzes and physical activities in small groups. Needless to say, morning coffee and biscuits will be served.

ImageAfter the activities session, it’s time for lunch. A member of staff brings a menu, for you to choose your lunch – either a large main meal, or alternative smaller meal, with pudding (depending on how hungry you feel). Alternatively, special meals and diets are catered for to suit your individual needs – All meals cooked by a professional cook, with years of experience, and a knowledge of what foods you like or dislike. Staff also give any medication to you which you have been prescribed.

Tea and cakes are served after 3pm, and on certain days residents are welcome to join the cook in baking sessions.

Friends and relatives are more than welcome to visit you at any time.
In the evening, a choice of supper is followed by hot drinks being served in either lounge. After supper, you may care to watch television. read a book or listen to the radio before bedtime. Staff serve sandwiches and hot drinks for those who wish, and will help you wash and get changed for bed.

You rest, safe in the knowledge that there will be staff available throughout the night to care for you.
