A few testimonials we have received

Dear Mrs Pillow, I am so grateful to youand your wonderful staff for looking after John for the last three months. However, from that first day I met you I knew you were the right person with your ... deep commitment to caring for your residents. You have all been so kind and patient with John and given him a happy loving environment which hopefully eased his pain and anguish. I am relieved that he is now at peace but I shall always be eternally grateful to you that his last few months of life were made so comfortable and that I knew he was getting the very highest standard of care at Green Bank. With many thanks to you all, [A]

Dear Mrs Pillow, First, I must thank all at Green Bank, and you in particular, for all the care and patience that you devoted to Kathleen during her stay with you. Words cannot really convey my gratitude to you all and the opinions I have heard from others that you were "head and shoulders above all other homes" that they knew were, if anything, understatements. How you do it I do not know! Your concern, too, about my well-being touched me greatly. Thank you again. Yours truly [S]

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the staff at Greenbank for the love, care and compassion that has been shown to my mother during the years that she was a resident with you.

I cannot say how much this meant to us as a family. We were able to leave her and know that she was being really well cared for. When visiting we always found mum to be as happy as she could be, well dressed and above all we never felt that visiting was a nuisance to the staff. In fact we felt that Greenbank is one happy family, and that they are always there for residents family as well.

Many thanks again. [CH and family]

Dear Mrs Pillow, I felt I must write a few lines to thank you and your staff for looking after my mother, Muriel, so well during the three years she was with you at Green Bank. I never ceased to marvel at the continued patience and kindness shown by all the staff in caring for each resident and catering for their individual needs. This personalised attention has undoubtedly contributed greatly to the secure family atmosphere reigning at Green Bank. Living as I do abroad, I was especially grateful to know that Muriel was safe and in excellent hands! With kind regards to all at Green Bank. [H B]

Dear Mrs Pillow and William, We would like to express our deep gratitude to you and all your excellent staff for the care and kindness shown to Doris during her stay with you, she could not have been better looked after. It was a great comfort to us to know that Doris was in the best of hands particularly towards the end and treated with dignity throughout her stay with you. Best wishes. [R & L L]

Dear Mrs Pillow I just wanted to say how impressed I was by the standard of care given by all your staff to Malcolm and all the other residents. Sitting each week in the lounge, I could see how different people‘s needs were, and each one was always treated with understanding and concern and respect. I should like to thank you and all the staff for the work that you do. I shall miss my visits to Green Bank, but I would recommend the Home to anyone seeking residential care for their loved one. Yours sincerely [S G, 2012]

Dear Mrs Pillow My mum, Molly, came to Green Bank in Spring 2013 having had a poor experience in two other care homes. Molly was not happy in either of these settings.

Green Bank was a revelation. You, William and the team were interested in mum as an individual. You all looked for solutions rather than problems. Moreover, you were always keen to work with me and commission suitable professional advice so that mum could be offered appropriate care. As you know, I liked to visit mum every evening after work. In other homes my ‘later than usual visits‘ were often seen as an inconvenience. At Green Bank, I always received a warm welcome. You all understood that my job sometimes prevented me arriving much before 7.30pm.

Molly was soon back to her old self, sharing jokes and singing out loud. It was wonderful to see her so happy and building very positive relationships with staff.

Your staff handled Molly‘s unexpected stroke in April professionally and with their usual high level of care. In mum‘s final few days, everyone worked so hard to make her comfortable. This was very much appreciated. At a very stressful time, I knew she was in the good hands of staff who had become her friends.

At a time when the care services have a ‘poor press‘ for lack of basic humanity, I count myself fortunate to have found Green Bank for what turned out to be Molly‘s final year. Thanks again for making my mother happy and providing for her care with professionalism and good humour.

Yours sincerely [S J, June 2013]

Dear William and Mrs Pillow

Over the past three years I have come to know you, your carers and your residents as dear friends and there are no words to describe my deep appreciation for all you have done for Bryan.

Your residents experience the real meaning of the word 'home' - a place of belonging, friendship, relaxation and humour in sometimes very difficult circumstances - your carers are very special people. To me you are all one big family.

From the point of ringing the doorbell I was always met with a huge smile, an offer of a cuppa, and a genuine welcome and then felt elated when I left that there were still, in this increasingly unpleasant world, human beings with such big hearts.

It was difficult initially for Bryan - he had always been very independent - but settled into this new way of life. He had genuine friends who would understand him, comfort and support him through his illness.

Green Bank is a haven of goodness in times of trouble. I have learnt so much from you all. Thank you so very, very much.

With my very best wishes [MD, March 2015]
